I almost bought one awhile back, cool little lizards but they are normally WC so are likely to have parasites and other health problems. I dont think anything will replace leos.

I see you saw my post a little while back. I was very curious about these guys. I held the one at the Petco by me. He was only about 2 inches long, so I'm guessing he was a baby. How big of a tank do they need and what do they eat? I have an extra 10 gallon and was thinking about another leo, but I am curious.

At 2 inches it is a baby. Probably only about 2 months old. Some places actually get gravid ones in and the babies are born at the store. They are born live and ready to fend for themselves.

A 2 inch one would be the perfect size to start with. It will not be loaded with parasites like some of the WC adults and it will grow up used to people so you could handle it without having to worry about a bite or having it ball up on you.

A 10 gallon would be fine for one up to about 6 inches STV. A 20 long will work for an adult.

They like a lot of hiding spots but are diurnal so they end up staying out in full view during the day and really only hide at night.

They eat crickets, mealworms, and waxworms. I keep mine with a hot spot of 95 and the cool end at 80. I use full spectrum lighting as well.

They are really great little lizards if you start with a baby and grow it up and they can live for 10 plus years.
