Well ive looking around different gecko species because i want something different than a leopard gecko.Ive came across the Aft gecko. These are a few questions..
What are the cage requirement for a Fat tailed Gecko?
What do they eat?
What should i have for the house(hides, leafs, decor, substrate)?
Thanks for your answers.

They are similar to leopard geckos in terms of space. They require a bit more humidity than leopard geckos. I have kept a fat tail on tile and misted the cage a few times a week. Currently I'm choosing to keep my fat tails on coco fiber in a planted tank with succulents and a dracaena. They seem to enjoy being misted every morning and come out and drink the droplets.

Most fat tails seem to prefer crickets and rarely eat mealworms. I don't feed roaches so I don't know about those.

You can set up the decor similar to leopard geckos.

Pretty much. I have to say I find them a little more boring than leopard geckos, but some people on here have them and get a kick out of them as pets.

The price for normals vary widely. I got one from a big pet store chain that was advertised for $60. He'd been there for more than 6 months. I told them I wanted him but thought that was too much. Since I think they wanted to make the sale too and he had a regrown tail, we agreed on $48 (20% discount). The nicer ones can be very expensive. Check the classifieds here and also kingsnake.com. If the price is very low, make sure that the animal is not wild caught. A captive bred one will be healthier and easier to handle. You could also put an ad in the "wanted" section here, or go to a show if there is one in your area and check out what there is.

I was feeding all my fat tails roaches but when i decided ad meal worms/super worms to there diet some of my fat tails will only accept that now. I guess a few of them are just picky eaters as only 3 of the 7 will take roaches now. My 2 albino girls are the most outgoing and will eat anything offered

I think there way better then leos, there so much calmer and dont run away like leos. I see it this way there are alot more people interested in leos because there so common and come in all different colors unlike fatties but one day there will be like leos.

Sorry, I forgot. I have a lot more leos than fatties, so it may be the individuals. SOme of the leos just sit there, but others climb around and interact. I have 1 tank of 3 leos who are just waking up when I'm sitting in the dining room eating my Friday night dinner and I always get a kick of them moving around the tank and nosing each other. In my fattie tank with a male and 2 females they are nearly all the time in their hides doing nothing.

The right side has plants and a drainage layer. The left side, separated by a piece of plexiglass on its edge has only coco fiber because that's where the heat is. The hide you can see on the far left is ceramic with a ceramic bottom and a removeable lid. There's another hide like that but it didn't make it into the picture. Both of these hides are partially buried in the substrated in order to be closer to the heater. They have ceramic bottoms so the geckos won't dig down to the bottom and burn themselves. The other hide just sits on the surface of the substrate.
That picture was taken right after I built it; it's changed a bit.
