So I have been thinking for a while that I would like some type of larger lizard for a pet. I was thinking something like a skink or some type of dragon. I have a 20L visionarium that I would like to use for it, so obvoiusly it would have to be of reasonable size. I'm just looking for opinions/experiences of others who have some herps that fit into this type of category. So, anyone have any suggestions for me as to what would be a neat pet? :)

I was considering blue tongue skink (and fire belly or schneiders) when I was deciding skink or gecko. The schneiders doesn't really like handled from what I read and are harder to keep, the blue tongues can eat baby food and can fit full grown in a smaller habitat than a beardie. It was a tough decision between the blue tongue and the leo. what about a chuckwalla?

20 gallon's not big enough for a beardie or a BTS. It would fit a schneider's. I also like Fire skinks, they're beautiful and somewhat underrated. Schneider's skinks take handling very well and are easily kept. Other species to consider would be pink tongued skinks, Rankin's Dragon, or one of the various African skinks (Myuba).

I was actually just looking at Fire Skinks and I'm really liking what I've found on them. Still open to suggestions though! :)
