Losing weight and laying eggs

One of my 9 month old females has been laying eggs. She has not been with a male at ANY point in her life and she just started laying them about 2 months ago. The problem is, it's caused her to lose a ton of weight and I'm having trouble getting her to gain any of the weight back before she lays another egg. Ideas?

The most you can do is to keep offering food and be patient. I weighed my breeders mid-breeding season and again in October and found in some cases a 20 gram weight difference. The only thing to be concerned about is if she also starts acting lethargic and ill.

Okay sounds good. She's active as ever, but her weight is frustrating.

Welcome to the frustrating world of leo husbundry.I have a male who hasnt eaten 7 weeks.I'm so used to it having 16 leos.I have several who are picky eaters I just don't worry about it anymore.i just keep offering them food.By the sounds of it a lot of peoples leos are going through Hunger strikes.

I have several females that have gone on the sex/no food diet. I break them with waxworms. I'll feed them 5-7 at a pop for a few days to fatten them up. I know its not the best but fat turns to fat pretty quick and you can see quite a change in their tails. I also switch with butterworms too. They plump up pretty quick that way. Good Luck!
