Loss of appetite after move, stress?

So Constantine jsut came home with me yesterday. It was a short car trip, and I did everything possible to make sure she had as little stress as possible, buuut... She had been with her previous owner for 7 years, and suddenly moving away from him might have freaked her out a little bit. He spoiled her a bit and only fed her meal worms, which on the west coast we're having a bit of a shortage of. So I have super worms, but she's not touching them. She won't chase crickets, and again, it's only the second day but what can I do to help her out a little bit? I'm sure she's pretty stressed out over moving out, and I want to help. She hates being handled, so I've been leaving her to sit in her moist hide.

any advice/questions?

Anytime you move a reptile from one location to another or switch owners it stresses them quite a bit. Since you've only had her for two days, this is perfectly normal, no worries. Just leave her alone for a few days and let her get used to her new surroundings. Only put your hands in the tank to clean and to offer food at first, to help reduce her stress. She may eat tonight or she may not eat until next week, it really just depends on the gecko. As long as her setup is right (correct temperatures, size, hides and ect.) then she should eat when she's ready.

Good luck with your new addition:main_thumbsup:

yeah she will be stressed, its hard to ignore them when you just 1st got them :p

but even dogs can get stressed with moving so just give her time :)

So it's been a few days now, she's still not eating (the mealworms keep escaping their dish >.> I'm looking for a new one) She hasn't really lost weight, but I haven't really seen much of her. She has a hiding rock that jsut seems WAY too small for her. When I try to pick it up she comes with it- there isn't enough room for her not to! So as soon as she actually exits this one I'll be putting in a bigger slightly more natural looking one. But how long of no eating untiol I start to worry? I'm already pretty paranoid about it- but true to my word I've left her to destress. She's just not. Sop again- I request easy ways to help a gecko destress if you have them!
