Hello all hope you and your pets are well.

I saw an advert for this desert bedding and I have been looking for some keeper reviews for it to no avail.

Has any one here ever used it and could tell me more about it.

Many thanks IMG_20210202_175606.jpg

I haven't used it and without knowing what it's made from, I couldn't venture an opinion. In general, people have had positive results from loose substrates like coco fiber. Sand, especially calcium-sand has been problematic. Larger pieces like walnut bark are also problematic. I once cared for a leopard gecko that had dropped its tail, most likely because of passing a piece of walnut bark.

Hi Aliza

This substrate is supposed to be good if your reptile wants to burrow. Apparently you just put it in your enclosure and let the reptile do its own thing.

I've looked at a few substrates that you model like clay to do this but a lot of people said that it is very crumbly.

I saw a video on YouTube where a small snake has eaten a chunk of wood that was in the substrate. Luckily it survived.

The excavator clay I've seen is not only crumbly, it's also heavy. As long as the stuff can pass through the gecko's system if it eats any, it's probably fine.
