mack carry melanistic gene?

Just an observation-I've seen quite a few geckos that are mack crosses and are very dark-melanistic like. Could it be something in the mack gene?

I've have sort of wondered that as well. I haven't noticed them with it all over the body, which is what I think you are describing. But I have seen them, with SUPER DARK melanistic patches on them. If so they might be he key, to a super black gecko.

Here is a pic of a male that is around 88 grams and he is around 7 years old and 11 inches long. He doesn't have any Mack.
