Mack Snow or not?

A friend of mine is unsure, if one of her offsprings is a Mack Snow or not. It came form a Mack het. Bell x Mack het. Bell pairing and hatched with a hint of yellow, but the yellowish colour now fades away . . .
Seeing just a pic of the juvie like it looks now, I'd say, it's a Mack Snow, but knowing that it hatched with a hint of yellow . . . I've always been told, if it doesn't hatch clear black and white, it's not a Mack Snow . . . But now I'm a bit confused . . . :main_huh:

First Pic shows the juvie, now about 6 weeks old, the other pics show the parents. A pic from the juvie as a hatchling doesn't exist.

I would say Mack Snow...

all mack snows can develop some degree of yellow, but it doesn't make them any less of a snow. they're mack snow genes are still dominant.

hope this helps.

Yeah, but what makes me suspicious is that this one was yellow as a hatchling . . . ;)

If the baby hatched black and white, it's a mack. It it hatched yellow and black it's a normal. Some normals can really go pastel over time from mack parents, but if it hatched yellow and black it's a normal.

Also Brittney, macks are co-dominant, not dominant. Some people prefer the term incomplete dominant as well.

EDIT: I forgot to say it looks like a mack to me, but without hatchling photos the only way to be certain is to try and prove him/her out.

Looks mack to me too, but Ryan is correct in saying without knowing at hatching, you can't say it's make for sure.

I sold a "mack tremper" today that I wasn't 100% sure of as a tremper. Better to be wrong in the customer favor than sell a tremper as a mack tremper is my theory.

Agreed; I do the same thing, Paul. I also let people know of what it *might* be - just in case. ;)
