Maintaining temperature gradient in hot weather

Hi all,

It's 30°c/86°f here at the moment, and I can't keep a good temperature gradient.
Cool end is 28.1°c, and the warm end, around 31/32°c. (Max has been in the "cool" end all day.

Any suggestions for a) helping him cool off if he needs to, and b) keeping a good temperature gradient?

Thanks. :)

Place a gel pack in a corner of the cool side, or a few ice cubes with small amount of water in a ziplock bag.

In my opinion, sometimes it gets really hot in nature. Everywhere. In this weather I don't worry about the leopard geckos' temperature. Most of my geckos are hanging out in their lay boxes/humid hides. I'm more concerned with the gargs and cresties and they do get the gel packs in the cages.

In warm weather my leo moves from her humid hide in the warm end of the terrarium to live under the water bowl at the cool end. I guess the water bowl against her back is cooling.

She´s also got another two bowls filled with rocks and some plants and there´s often water in them too... but they are not as popular in warm weather as the water bowl:

He's spending the majority of his time in his big cool hide, and I've been putting a fan nearby on rotate to keep the air moving around. I'm keeping his moist hide nice and wet too, so he can use the water to rehydrate. (He does have a water bowl too).

LurancyVenom > I´ve tried that. My leo ignored it for months until I took it away. Then i tried again. She ignored it for months.... until I took it away.
I thinking of trying again. ;) :)

Haha! Little buggers aren't they! He hasn't used it yet, but it gives me peace of mind that it's there should he need it to cool down or to use the extra water.
