I have a sunglow (original urban line) and would like to make more of them without buying another sunglow.

So here is my question: is it possiple when i do pair him with a jungle albino and get in the f1 generation a few hypos (i have although one hypo reverse stripe) and line breed them back to the sunglow male so i get in the f2 generation a chance of a few sunglows?

---if you want sunglows buy another sunglow, you will be playing catch-up trying to make sunglows like some of the nicer ones you see today.

a nice shtctb would also be a good choice as all a sunglow is is a shtct albino ;)

I disagree. Breeding an Urban Sunglow to a Jungle Tremper will probably create some Sunglows in the first generation. Most Sunglows, especially Urbans, have had hypos in their lineage for generations. Even most Jungle Trempers at this point have had hypos bred to them at some point.

I dunno because the sunglows are mostly banded, I think it would just produce jungles more than a clean patternless hypo looking animal.

Someday i could have Sunglow :)

Me to but I have a good start. I have a SHTCT and a Mack Snow Tremper 66%het RAPTOR. So by getting some Albinos with my SHTCT I could produce a nice Sunglow in about 3 generations.

I have done the cross several times, and gotten everything from banded to fully striped, and both patterns can hypo out completely.

i completely agree. most of the orange geckos out there albino and non-albino at this time have some sort of hypo in them. funny thing is people used to be breeding for completely oramnge patternless geckos with dark pigmentation and now people are trying to put the pigmentation back into the orange geckos.

Cool! I did not know this info, so I guess you would get some sunglows from this project first gen. I would still get another sunglow to make more sunglows but that's just me!

What is it you are looking to accomplish with this project? sunglows? cool carrots? the orange color?

From personal experience I can tell you that a male TUG to a female carrot tail ends up with really nice carrot tails (orange carrots not red) with a sold yellow to orange body.
I can provide some first generation pictures if you would like to see them.

I´d like to produce some brighter orange on the gecko himself and get more carrot tail (%), as my male has even now.

You can look on my hp where i have a few pics from the Breeders and availables ( 1 Generation). In January i´ll updating some pics.

I´d like to see some pics of your outcomes with note from which Breeders.

Thanks a lot for all the posts which agree that i´m on the right way.

I´m just breed for fun and for learning how the genetic is going to work. I´m not expect to get profit of it, so i can wait some generation to get what i´m looking for.

I hear ya’! I love to breed a few each year to watch how they develop and grow.

As for the (%) of carrot that is going to be line trait breeding. So the best way to improve the color and the carroting is to find breeders that have the desirable traits and then to mate them with other that have those same traits. Each generation pick out the best and continue to enhance those colors and the carroting in the tail.

In a word yes:main_thumbsup:.

[1C]Talbino super hypo tangerine X Talbino hyper aberrant = .

Talbino normal.
Talbino aberrant.
Talbino hyper aberrant(Very possible).
[1C]Talbino hypo.
[1C]Talbino hypo aberrant.
[1C]Talbino hypo hyper aberrant(Very possible).

A percent of offspring will be influanced by tangerine.
A percent of hypo offspring will likely mature into super hypo.

And Talbino + Super hypo + tangerine = Sunglow regardless of body pattern expressed.
