Male and female togather?

Hi I'm new here and I was wondering if I could keep my adult male and female leopard gecko in a 20 gallon(or larger if needed) tank together and if so what problems might I run into? They both are about the same size and both are healthy although the male is on the skinny side.

Thanks for the help.

It's possible to do so, yes.

Some geckos when kept together don't mate, don't pester each other, and live quite happily.

Most don't.

Your male will most likely stress your female. He'll probably mate with her, and once she's gravid he'll usually continue to try to mate with her. This is not the case all the time, but it happens a lot.

Even if you want eggs, it's not the best idea to house a male and female together.

That being said, I housed Felix and Morgan together for a few months and they never bred, just existed together. Both got enough food, both seemed happy (energetic) enough. It wasn't until I separated them for a while and reintroduced Morgan into Felix's cage for the sole purpose of breeding them, that they actually mated. I only put them together long enough to get the deed done, then they were separated again.

That's not the norm, though.

Khrysty is right i have 5 leopard geckos all in all my two normal phase geckos pog and rhubarb have lived together for about 9 years now, yet i cant keep my albino male in with my other two femals cos all he wants to do is breed with them and this in turn stressed them out.
So i think the thing to do is try it with the two geckos in with each other but have a secound viv just in cas thing dont work out.
