I have a few plans for 2013, which include the use of one male to three females.

What are your thoughts on this? Is three females too much for one male? I plan on introducing him to their individual tubs for a short time, and then back into his own tub.

Everything I've read seems to say that they can handle up to four or five females and while I've no experience with it my male seemed more than capable had there been another willing female. He is even a very mild mannered male. I would think it would depend on the specific male as well and whether or not he handles breeding well but I would say he could without a problem.

3 females is not a problem for a single male at all, a standard breeding group usually consist of 1 male and 3-5 females. With that said, just make sure to give him plenty of rest in between and don't overwork him in favor of breeding ambitions. Males do tend to stop eating off and on when they start breeding with females, so make sure he's healthy and of good weight also before start putting him to work.

Depends on the male, I would say. Though my male has been very good with his 3 females and still eats like a pig anyways. Fiance's male tends to not eat when females are around, so he has to keep him separate other than just to breed.

I would just play it by ear. If he handles breeding fine with no problems then let him have at it. But if he has any prolapse problems or loses too much weight then hold off. A backup male is always a good idea

Ive read somewhere that a male can handle up to 8 females, personally, my male impregnated 2 females this season, which is also his first season.
