Ok, if you've read any of my other posts you know that I have three females (jungles) and a male (albino). Well, it would seem that the females come out and play/respond to my voice/ETC any time. BUT when I walk into the room and the male is out he freaks out and runs into a cave. Just wondering if anyone else has notice this type of behavior with thier males as opposed to females.

I realize that every gecko has their own personality, but just wanted to see if this is a common thing or if I should handle my male a lil more. Thanks.

Nope, my males aren't any less social than my females..one of my males is extremely friendly. A lot of my geckos are as you described though, especially my fat-tailed. He's more afraid of me than he is the cat that launches herself at his cage.

Nope, I have two males and they both like to come out when they see or hear me near their tanks. My smaller male will climb to the highest point to reach my hand.

I think it just depends on the gecko. My male's really friendly, I've even helped him shed and he doesn't bother.

To be honest, i've observed quite the opposite with my beasts...my girls tend to go the "flight" route rather than the "fight" route, lol..

I think Dennis is right. I think it just depends on the gecko.

you guys are lucky. none of my geckos do anything at all when i walk in the room or go to handle them. they just both tolerate me.

I'm very lucky I guess, none of my geckos will run away from me. I have 6 males and 3 females; most of them will come out when the light is out. When I appear in front of their tank, most of them will start climbing here and there, trying to "get my attention", they like to be picked up too. I have some very social geckos (except Lemzip). :)

Only my Bell will occasionally freak out- but I think that's because she's either partially blind or blind in light. Either way she's like 'whoah! What the freak just touched me!' My males aren't really any more or less fond of handling. I think it's an individual gecko thing.
