Uh I have a kind of strange question I guess. I've been around several male geckos since I've been a gecko owner and uh I've always been a little concerned about the size of mines uh male parts, I don't know what there called in a gecko lol. Mines very sick right now refuses to eat etc I've seen a vet and there kind of at a loss as to whats wrong with him. The vet said she could run lots of tests but she doesn't think he's gonna make it either way. I'm still trying my best to help him though. It seems the skinnier he gets the bigger his testies or whatever they called get and today I noticed a red knot on them. Can geckos get testicular cancer or testicular diseases just curious. He seems to be kind of favoring them and paying more attention to them, I just wanna get him better.

I would get a second opinion from a different vet.
Sounds like he could have a prolapsing hemipene - can you post a picture?

I agree with Katie, it dose sound like a prolapse. A second opinion i think would be best if you wish to save him.

Good luck. keep us posted

You may have to travel to a different city. If I want to take my geckos to a reputable vet, I have to drive 2 hours to Guelph.
A prolapse could indeed cause weight loss. It is painful and needs a vet to correct it if it has been a problem for this long.

It may sound harsh, but if you arent willing to drive to another vet you may want to consider euthanasia. It would not be fair to keep this gecko in his suspected condition.

I agree about the euthansia. Its not that I'm not willing to travel its that the vet thinks he's not going to make it either way. This red knot just appeared yesterday but he's been swollen largely awhile. I've researched prolapse and looked at pictures and it doesn't look like that, it appears to be like an ulcer on the side of his testicles nothing is coming out, I'm trying to post pictures and I'm not succeeding.

They look infected, but I commented about it on your other thread.
He needs treament as soon as you can possibly find a new vet.

Yes, it is definitely possible for leos to get testicular cancer. I just had to put one of mine down due to it. When we sent him for necropsy, we were informed that we might be the first documented case of it.

I read your post and it sounds a lot like my leos problems, I don't know if you've read my other posts or not but the vet did say she saw something near his liver and his abdomen was distended, will you check out my pics and see if what I'm describing looks familiar I'd really appreciate it.

In my albums I don't know how to put them in here, I'm going to try and post clearer ones. He actually started eating today and being active but he's constantly uh grooming himself I guess you'd say.

Hum I dunno everyday when I soak him I look at his hemipenes to make sure there not getting worse I don't see any stuck shed there he often struggles with his toes though. Do you think since there so large and he's paying so much attention to them he may have made them raw with the constant grooming or the tile burned them his warm sides usually 92-94.

Those hemipenes look impacted, like we dealt with with Psycho. Baths and massaging the area eventually broke up the impaction and we were able to reduce the swelling. Might want to get a vet to prescribe some antibiotics as well.
