Male gecko vibrated his tale + idk why

i heard my male vibrate his tale. he was looking at my female but he was outside of hide and she was inside. He then licked his under tail and the red thing. it happened too quick.

I thought maybe he thought she was a male at first so he shook his tale and then relized she was a female.

Do males lick there private even if they didnt mate with female or failed to mate?

I also noticed that his tales color was a pink before hee vibrated it and after it was white, IDK if it was the lighting or what but i noticed it.

Tail vibration in a male is a signal of mating. Unless you plan on breeding, I'd separare them. Yes he will lick himself. It means that he became aroused.

If he was licking his private parts then most likely he already bred with her
