Male or Female?

I bought this gecko a few weeks ago. I was told it was a female, which is what I needed. Well I noticed today while handling that it has bulges and pores. I don't claim to be a gecko expert by any means, but it certainly looks male to me. I contacted the seller, and sent pics, but he's still claiming it's a female. I want to know what y'all think? I hope I'm not being had.

Agreed, looks like a young male just starting to develop (pores are not as apparent as a mature male).

Males can take a little while to show, so it may have looked female to the seller. The other possibility is that the gecko was temp sexed female, but sometimes flukes occur and they become male anyways.

If the seller continues to deny that it is male and refuses to work with you at all, then at least you know who not to buy from in the future.

Yea. He offered me a partial refund, which is something, but Im still $110 down the drain and now have more males than I need, and less females than I need...

My suggestion would be to see if someone would like to do a trade. You could post on the classifieds with what you want to trade for (you may have to broaden your desires to get responses quickly). You could put that refund money towards paying the shipping for that, and then you may not have as much loss and acquire the gecko you need.

I've never shipped out before, so I'd be terrified to do that x3

Definitely looks male to me too. I hope you can work something out with the breeder.

Just FYI - Shipping is super easy! The hardest part is figuring out where your closest FedEx hub is and taking the leap! If I can help with some advice let me know :)

I'm not sure on his specific parents. Just that he's a Tremper het blizzard & eclipse. I'll take a picture once I get home from work for you. I can't post them from taptalk
