I have a homemade tank that is 2, 20 gallons divided by a piece of wood. For about a month until i can see eggs or know shes gravid or however long it will take. (she didnt mate yet). Would it be okay to take the divider out for breeding until she gets gravid or lays eggs. It would be just her and 1 male. It has 6 hides and double of everything. Would that be okay or will she get stressed out or start to fight or something? also I had them together and they didnt really do anything( My female touched my male and my male bit her cheeck.wellm didnt actually get to bit bu then my female kind walked away and nothing happened). I was wondering if they would find each other when in a 40 gal.? Or did the male just not do too much because he knew she wasnt ovulating and would find her in a 40 gal. when the time comes? I know i have a lot of questions but help would be appreciated.

thanks

I imagine they would be able to find each other and will probably mate when it's time although they may not do it when you're watching. If one or the other starts looking realy beat up, you may have to put the divider back; otherwise they'll be fine.
