My female gecko Yoshi has MBD. I can tell by the way she walks sometimes her back legs are somewhat uncontrollable and she tends to flail her back legs when she's scared and runs. Does this hurt her? She's in a 20 gallon tank with my male gecko Rex and they breed during season and see lays eggs fine they just never live. I don't want to seperate them because they've been together for 4 years now and get along fine. Is there anything I can do to help her? I put calcium drops in their water, and dust their food with calcium powder and vitamin suppliment. Will she ever heal or is it just going to get worse? She is my baby and I am not willing to "put her down" it is simply out of the question unless it absolutly has to be done.

Get liquid Calcionate Syrup.(calcium supplement)
Company mine is made by is Rugby.
It's made for humans, (or :ears:Martians. [humor])
It worked twice for me on geckos.
You can be more assured she is getting it,
then licking or how much she gets by drinking.
Take care. HJ

How old and what weight is the sick girl?

You should always separate any animal that is in poor health. She needs to not be bothered by any other geckos while healing. Also producing eggs is consuming a lot of the much needed calcium that she lacks that is causing the MBD. What calcium powder are you using? Some are less affective on nocturnal reptiles.

You should put her in her own enclosure and to keep her from breeding and producing eggs. She will never lay a viable egg with the disease. Repashy is considered one of the best calcium supplements for Leopard Geckos. You will want to dust at every feeding and keep a small bowl/cap full of calcium in the enclosure for her.

Does the calcium you're using have D3 in it? It helps them process the calcium and without it, you might see what you're describing.
