A breeder sold you this? That Leo looks very underweight. You have a cage mate? You need to quarantine this Leo if you have not already. You are running a risk of passing something on to your other Leo if you don't. 60-90 quarantine minimum and honestly it is a lot less of a risk on both your leos if you separate long term. Not sure about MBD, although the legs do look thin and maybe a little bowed. I would be more worried about parasite or other diseases. I would try to get it checked out by a vet first and or call the breeder and have a nice discussion with him about what the leo was being fed, supplemented with, and any other problems this one has had. Also let him know that as a breeder, to let a 6 month old leo like that be sold reflects badly on him. Was it a reputable breeder? Hopefully it's just a matter of getting him to a good weight. Your questionnaire is a little vague and temps are really important to know and regulate. Since the Leo is new, I know his current condition isn't your fault, but getting your husbandry right is vital for your Leo's health and recovery. Don't get me wrong, I don't think your Leo is knocking on deaths door or anything, but definitely in my opinion doesn't look well taken care of. Best of luck.

yeah well the cage mate shes with is another leo i bought from him at the same time, i think the picture makes her look alot less healthy she looks normal to me with weight maybe a little under fed, the legs is the main problem with me it just looks strange, i called him hours after i bought them and questioned him his answer was "i doubt they have mbd" he claims he dusted his crickets all the time, it was funny though on how he just wanted to get rid of her , the one i originally wanted to buy was on his website but the one i have questions on isn't..so that kind of threw me off as well , i wish i can take her to the vet i just dont have the funds for it right now, ugh i wish i could of had her as a hatchling so i know she would be healthy, thank you for the reply and help

Well, just calcium isn't good enough. Maybe this Leo wasn't getting enough d3 to process the calcium. Im hoping he was giving a multivitamin also. Could even be that the Leo has genetic defect that will make it hard for this Leo to absorb the calcium she is getting. Although i doubt the leo would make it that long. Looking at the pics again, i have seen much worse, but still, at 6 months old, with good care, a leo should look better then that. I would still separate to be safe in case one is sick. I know they have already come in contact, but say one is weaker or sicker then the other, there is more of a risk of bullying and that could even have something to do with the weight and condition the one is in. I know vets aren't cheap, but if you call a local vet and explain to them the issue, they may be able to work out a deal or payment plan. Also, I know you can get health credit cards that you can use if say you had a dental bill, you can also use them for a vet. They can give you 0 percent interest for like 6 months on operations and or bills that are very expensive. I had to use mine recently because my dog had to have a $2,000 dollar surgery on his leg. I just paid what I could and have a small balance left that I have 4 months to pay. It makes it a lot easier. If you can't, I really would recommend giving it to someone that can get it the medical attention it may need. All animals can have problems, and you need to be ready to deal with the problem before you loose your pet. Leo's are very resilient, and when you start to see an issue, it's usually pretty progressed. I still say its worth getting a vet to look at it. Hope you can get it figured out and your Leo starts doing better.

Looks like it does have MBD. Her legs look VERY bowed and rubbery. You need to start gut loading the feeders with Fluker's high calcium cricket diet, keep a dish of calcium WITHOUT D3 in her enclosure at all times and dust every single insect she eats with Repashy Calcium Plus. You also need to take her to the vet. If you can't afford to take her to the vet, then you need to rehome your geckos with someone who can afford to give them the vet care they need. If you can't afford the vet, you can't afford the pet. Just for reference here is a pic of my leo, so you can see what NORMAL legs look like.

No one here is diagnosing your gecko as only a qualified vet can do that but i agree with every one else, this gecko defo 'looks' like it dose have MBD.
you should have never been sold this animal in this condition. it needs to see a vet asap. you can do that or take it back to the supplier and they can do it.

Needs a vet visit, looks like MBD to me.
Dont try to treat it until a vet has seen her though.

+1 ^^
As others have suggested, The animals legs look misshapen which could be from a vitamin and or calcium deficiency of some sort. A reptile vet would need to determine this.

the breeder who sold me this gecko would not answer my texts or calls he kept saying he would give me credit but i didnt want credit i wanted my money back, he just stopped answering my calls. i feel embarrassed for purchasing this gecko and trusting him as a breeder, i now know to never make a fast purchase i will do my research on the breeder and his quality. i ended up giving the gecko to a experienced reptile keeper and breeder i wish i could of helped her but i did not have the money for vet bills right now, well its safe to say i learned my lesson,! im not going to bash his "business" but everyone beware of ********* im not sure how he treats his other reptiles that he breeds but i know not to trust his leopard geckos. thank you all for your comments and concern and advice its nice to know there are people on this website that want to help!

That's too bad. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. i hope the breeder you gave him to can help.

You may want to edit your last post and put a review of the breeder in the feedback section. I'm pretty sure site rules prohibit feedback from being left elsewhere in the forum and you must provide your full name to leave it.
