Hi,
im gonna be taking in 2 geckos as rescues one seems fine..small but fine...then the other..well look at the pic...Im still getting the info straight but its likely they didnt get supplemanted..Just by the pic do you think its MBD? she obviously has leg problems and is small(kinda thin) maybe she was born that way? I just want someone else's oppion on this. If she has obvious signs of pain..i think i may have to put her down(said to even think about before i get her!) I have no experince with MBD so anyones imput would be great. Is there a chance that her leg problems with get better with supplementing and the medicine the vet will give me? The owner seems like they met well and all just didnt know about the calcuim they need...thanks

It's possible that it could have been born that way but it could be MBD. MBD isn't reversible but after they've been treated with liquid calcium (or whatever else the vet prescribes) most can regain enough strength to get around fine. Typically the younger and smaller the Leo the better they will recover because they're still growing. Good luck!

thing is....shes atleast 3 years old...apparently only 6 inchs long..shes super cute tho and her buddy idk if its male or female(PRAYING its female!) is in better shape has a regrown tail but no signs which is good. Both are in a 10 gallon tank...getting them tuesday! so I'll post pics of her better then!

and thanks! i actually just ordered some butterworms just for her. working on getting phenoix worms. fingers crossed she gets healthy!:D the owner said she has seen better days but once the kids moved out they didnt take them and they didnt know what they were doing...thanks for the info! The vet appointments not for 2 weeks! only opening! Should i dust like i do for the others(once a week with D3 and 3 times without) or should i dust more with D3?

Could also potentially have been a break or dislocation that was never set- the animal keeps walking around, dragging the injury underneath it- it heals twisted.

You'd need additional symptoms or an x-ray to get a better idea and even that might not conclusively answer the question of why it is the way it is.
