MBD question

Hi,

Occasionally when my leo is walking his legs shake. They don't shake when they are on the ground, but a little but when he will lift them up to take a step. This doesn't happen a lot, but enough to notice. After reading about MBD it seems like shakiness is a sign of moderate to severe MBD. He shows no other signs of MBD like the bowed legs or rubbery jaw. He has been eating at least every other day and I have been dusting his food with ReptoCal. This is a nutritional supplement with calcium, D3, and vitamins. I have been leaving some of this in his cage too. The only other difference is that it seems to take him a lot longer to poop after eating. When I first got him as a baby he used to eat and then the next day there was a poop, now he eats and a few days later there will be a poop. This may just be because he is getting older.

Here is a video where the gecko the guy is holding does the same thing my gecko does. At 1:07 seconds the gecko moves his leg and it shakes like my gecko. Is this just a normal gecko thing or is it a bad sign? I think I will be going to get the Calcium Plus supplement, so that there are no questions about him getting the right amount of calcium and phosphorous. Also he has been doing this since I got him, but I never thought much of it.

I just did some more research on the supplement(reptocal by tetrafauna) I use and it says that it has a calcium to phosphorus ratio of 5:1. I have read that it is supposed to be 2:1. Could this be a problem? The supplement is advertised for all reptiles.

The ratio on what I use is 2:1 with Vit. A and Vit. D3
It is a supplement powder product called Osteo-Form developed for horses. Before switching there were problems with my buddy using the other one being used....
Comments from Albey confirmed he had the troubles until going to this product........
My only proving of anything is less troubles for the
two of us since using it....take care. HJ

All four of my leos will sometimes have a little foot/leg tremble, usually when they are walking or climbing slowly, exploring. I think it is normal, and kind of cute, since they have always done this, and have been healthy in every respect as far as I know. Certainly no signs of MBD. My impression is that they are just placing their foot a little hesitantly to check out the stability of the surface. So if that's all you are seeing, I wouldn't worry about it.

Ok this is what I thought. My gecko has always been healthy and has always done this foot tremble thing. Mine does it when walking slow too. It must be to feel for the ground or something. Thanks a lot. I hope I don't have a problem now after switching supplements.
