I use peanut butter lids and they work great, they are the perfect height.

I use I guess their called "eye gells" or something like that. It is a wrinkle thing for womans eyes. I put tape around the sides to stop it from looking through and tipping the bowl thinking that it was right there. lol But you can also, if you don't have mass amounts of them, you can get the bowls at PetCo for food and water, they are the nicest dishes I have ever seen. They are only a dollar.

for adults any ceramic or glass crock dish of ample height will work well, they are slick so the mealies can't get out as easy. those stainless small pet bowls from the $1 store are good too. And non slick dish will allow for escapes.

I use votive holders and peanut butter lids for babies and juvies too.

I use the plastic plant soccers from my local garden store . They work well and are cheap if you need many. They are like 30 to 65 cents a piece.

I got so irritated with all the horrible ones I endured for so long I made my own. (In a ceramics class) that has a deep straight up sides for the bowl part and then slopes gently to the ground. Since Path is disabled and well, pathetic (that's his full name) I had to do something like that. Before I was using a really deep glass bowl and just put a rock next to it for them to lunge from.

fyi petco's escape proof tera contraptions aren't escape proof. They do limit escapes but they will still get out. The dish is porous and the little buggers can get a grip and work there way up and over the lip. Bigger worms have it easier i doubt it would hold supers at all if they wanted out. Although a supers weight may not let it go inverted to get over the lip... my regulars regularly get out, I'll catch them on top of the top trying to get down often.

I'm slowly looking for a smooth glazed ceramic that is a hight i like currently. The tera one seems a bit big even in my 20L. I might get serious about it this weekend.

I use these dishes that I get at petco, their these little hand painted dishes. I originally used them for calcium dishes but tried them for mealie dishes and love them.

dishes

for my small hatchlings I use clear plastic containers, i get them from the container store...

I'm in nyc, and on Canal street there used to be a plastics place that carried these...however, they 'went out of business' ....kind of....seems that the owner of that business had a side project ....delivery service marijuana with over 50,000 customers in his computer database.

Seems also like he was using his plastic company to make the small containers that the marijuana was being delivered in...handy..huh?

google 'cartoon network' and not the tv station , this is what he called his business...was sometime last year i believe he was busted.

so, anyway....I use those small plastic containers for my hatchlings water and baby mealworms/suppliment powder
(big mealworms can escape from these shallow dishes)

AND for my adults i use standard issue hotel/bar type glass ashtrays with high sides (i found a c ase of them for almost nothing)

btw, i got my containers from the CONTAINER STORE...lol :main_laugh:

I have been using the containers from ICE Breakers fruit sours, the plastic ones. sometime i see metal but i wont use those. They are short and easy for the geckos to get into and I always have a bunch of candy lying around.
