Meal Worms or any feeders in general

I was just wondering because a couple friends of mine that are breeders warned against using mealworms. They told me something along the lines that if your gecko didn't chew the worm completely, that it was possible for it to eat through the stomach of your gecko. They recommended cutting off the mealworms head before placing them in the dish or something. I was wondering if anyone else has heard things like that about mealworms or any other types of feeders.

I've heard the same thing, but it is a myth. The stomach acids in the geckos kill the mealworms before they would be able to do anything to get gecko.

If cutting the heads off first was the right thing to do.. my leo would never eat. She won't eat anything unless it is moving. Like Kyle said, that is a myth and mealworms are a great food for leos.

The famous mealworm myth strikes again lol. Its just that, a myth and theirs no truth to it. Mealies make a good staple diet or part of a varied diet.
