i went to petsmart today to buy froto some food, the crickets that they had were well dang near microscopic, so i decided to buy mealies again and wait till they got bigger crix in. well, i got the last container of mealies that they had. got home and opened them up and they are HUGE they are between an inch-inch and a half long!!! i never knew mealies got that big....my question is i dont think i can feed these to him. i was thinking mabe cut them in half and try it that way, till i can get mormal sized mealies but then that would really defeat the purpose of gutloading them. i picked the smallest ones out and gave them to him, he walked to the mealie dish and stared at them for about 10 seconds, if i could have read his mind, im sure he was thinking "OH MY GOD!!!"

Well if your gecko is afraid of them it may mean they are to big for him. Try regular mealies, their smaller. He may not eat them either, My AFT wont touch mealies, loves cricks though. Just dont leave any uneaten ones in the cage because they can chew of toes and stress the lizard. Good luck :)

Super worms are much bigger then mealies. They also sell giant meal worms which are bad because they are fed growth hormones and who knows how that will effect our reptiles. My male AFT will not touch mealies but the female loves'em. If he won't eat supers try regular meal worms as soon as they have them available. Other then that there is not much you can do to change his mind.
