I'm currently using wheat bran. But Ive been thinking of ways to separate the worms from bedding. The wheat bran is to course for it all to go through a sift. Is there fine wheat bran available? Ive seen some places talk about using cornmeal. So wanted to hear a few peoples opinion on using cornmeal and how that my affect the mealworm itself. Perhaps you could grind the wheat bran up yourself although i don't know how good it would grind.

The wheat bran would probably grind best in a coffee grinder, but I wonder how good a gutload plain wheat bran is. For better results, you could buy some chicken mash, some custom gutload (many of us order from progeckos.com), or make your own by getting good quality grains and powdering them in the blender. Then you can more easily sift out the mealworms.
