I heard that you should separate them but you dont have to. I read that mealworms and beetles sometimes eat the pupa. And beetles eat small mealworms, but other people say this has never happened to them, but how would they keep tracko of 1000 mealworms. So just to be on the safe side i would (i am going to do it when i get my mealworms), but if you dont feel its necessary you dont have to.

http://www.sialis.org/raisingmealworms.htm <---- that has some good information.

when they get large enough i will separate them. there so tiny now that its very hard to see them and they are also very soft and delicate looking.

my whole mealworm life cycle takes place in one tank... I feed them what vegies my beardie doesnt eat. i started with about 4000 mealworms and 1000 superworms 8 months ago and the populations are holding strong with about 2000 mealworms and 250 supers. that isnt counting all the beetles.

beardies love superworm beetles... geckos not so much
