Mealworm Question

So I was talking to some friends today about mealworms and they all have mentioned small tiny REALLY tiny, white worm-like items in the container. Now I've heard different things as what they are... Anyone have any idea?

Grain mites would be my best guess.

how small is tiny? like ant size? if not its a puapae its when the mealworms turn into a cocoon ish thing before the become a beetle.

If they are saying "small tiny REALLY tiny," then I kinda doubt it is pupae. Pupae tend to be large, around the same size as regular mealworms, and a cream color. My vote is still grain mites. If these friends have colonies, the easiest/only way to get rid of grain mites is to just dump the entire colony.

Sounds like the larval stage of a flour beetle.
