I'm trying to set up a tub of mealworms so that I can hopefully breed them, but the universally recommended oatmeal isn't really available for me to use. It's not a normal product in Japan and often costs a lot.

There is breading at very cheap prices which would normally be used for putting on meet to be deep fried. Would this be an acceptable alternative?

Some people I have read use rice crispies. I guess bread crumbs will work as long as there is no seasoning or additives.

Hmm, interesting. Didn't know that article was on your site and it was a great read! Might look into ordering that because I have no blender...
