can someone give me a total care sheet for mealworms? no links please! i tried it the way websites told me and it didn't work. Also, my lobster roaches are not breeding very fast. most have died off exept for 3 females (big and brown) and 20-30 males (small and black). They have flex watt and food and sprayed daily. Thanks!

contrary to popular belief

mealworms are not good food for geckos

because they are hard to digest because of hard shell skin

thats what this lady told me at this exotic pet store i went to

so im just feeding it crickets and waxworms

and those blue worms

Mealworms:
keep them in a container with oats and carrots or potatos for a water sourse. Change them before they rot.
When a mealworm turns into a white thing ("alains") seperate them. They'll then become beetles. Put the beetles in a new container with oats and a water sourse for 2 weeks then change them into a new container.

Mealworms are super easy. I keep mine at room temp in a plastic bin with a mixture of cornmeal and wheat bran as a substrate. Carrot seems to work best as the water source. I keep a cardboard egg carton in there and they seem to congregate under it. Don't let the carrot mold. I've found the packaged baby-cut carrots to last the longest. HTH!

And yes... mealies are a great staple food.

You can also keep mealworms in the fridge to slow down the morphing process. The day before you feed, leave them out to room temp to wake up, feed them, then the next day feed the gecko the worms.
