I have about 60 or 70 beetles in oatmeal and a slice of bread and carrots in with them. Is there anything else I need to do?

Nope that'll do it. You could do it with just carrots and oatmeal.

Also, if you go with bran or chicken mash from a local feed store it'll be cheaper and easier to sift through.
