Please help me.

Ok , I own 2 females leopard gecko, 1 full adult and other Juvie not too small , like close to adult. So when put these two together the small one bullies the big one. IDK why . They have been in a split tank since the 2-3 week i got em. I dont get it. Why is this little baby biting the big one. I really want them to be together and dont have to hassle with heat mats and food bowls etc when all are in the same tank.

Just wondering if ant body else got this problem or who had overcome this problem and can give me tip/advice to have them cooperate. I know their not dogs that you can train. Just tips that can help.:main_thumbsup:

Just what I was gonna say... are ya sure the smaller one isn't a male? And if you aren't willing to deal with the hassle of having 2 set ups then I think you're one leo too heavy. Love it when people referr to their pets needs as a hassel. Leos are solitary creatures and it is unnatural for them to live in groups, even females will squabble and vie for dominance.

I happen to have a female who hates other leopard geckos. She once mutilated a cage mates tail and tries to kill any male in her tank. It is real bummer, she makes fantasticly bright tremper albinos.

You can't count on communal housing when taking on another gecko. It just doesn't always work out. Since leaving them together will likely lead to injury, or even death, your only options are to house them separately or find another home for one. This should have been a consideration prior to getting a new pet.

i dont think you should be trying to house a juvenile and an adult together anyway?, youd probably have less issues if they were same age.
and 2 -3 weeks isnt long enough for quarantine.

I think you need to go back a gecko and only have one, if two is too much hassle. or accept that not all geckos will live together and house them seperatly.

Feeding twice is a hassle? Then you have a slight probem I think. I feed lets see... 3 different times in a night... the rabbitry (about 25), the dogs (anywhere between 5-9 on any given day) and my leo... none of it is EVER referred to as a hassle and the day it is, someone's gone... pretty leos btw...

Instead of all the negativity ill try the other side of coin. Take both females out and put them in neutral containers. Now CLEAN the cage you want to put them both in. Clean everything that is going to be in cage very well. All the items you put in the cage put them in different places (keep of coarse a warm hide and a cool hide area). If cage is big enough throw in an extra hide.

Ill tell you i have one girl that is SUPER mean to EVERYONE boy girl doesn't matter. I finally paired her with a female that she gets along with. You may have a pair that wont work together but i would say try that see how it goes.

The neutral territory thing might work. We do that when we're switching mice out of my son's colony to bring in new blood to avoid fights. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It usually depends on if we left the dominant male/female in the tank with the colony exchange altho we usually trade the dominant male just to be safe, but then again mice are communal animals and naturally live in groups...

Thanks, the reason i was saying its a hassle because their in the same exact tank and i am feeding twice , i love my reptiles and i might have misused the word "hassle" wrong but i asure you that i would sacrifice anything for my little babies

you shouldn't think it's a hassle to feed both anyways ..you really got to watch that BOTH get to eat ..so one doesn't bully it and get all the food.

Just a comment on the photos.....
Nice Geckos & Photos.
But to tell if you have a "mean Joe Green"
underside photos would have a better chance
of determining that.
Take care. HJ
