Might Have a Problem...(Possible Internal Injury?)

I've been suffering the past 24 hours with the most painful ear infection ever....I literally was screaming it was so painful....so anyway I gave my fiance leo duty while I was sick in bed. He said he went to pick up Laka so he could mist her humid hide and she freaked out and fell and landed from about 5 feet or so, on her fall downwards she hit a plastic storage box on the sides. Even though I was in so much pain I immediately went to check on her after my fiance told me of the incident, she didn't drop her tail, but the whole thing has a pinkish hue, not white like usual.

Another thing I'm concerned about is that I saw what looked like slime or vomit on her reptile hammock, it wasn't much, but enough to know it was there. I'm going to take her to the vet tomorrow to check for internal injuries, I would post some pictures of her belly but I'm too afraid to disturb her now, as she's been through enough.

My leos are like my babies seeing that I can't ever have children (I know it sounds corny but whatever) So yeah, I'm just extremely concerned for Laka's well-being.

It doesn't sound 'corny' at all! She is your baby! It's probably a good idea to leave her alone until you can get her to the vet. I hope your baby will be OK!

you know... I'm exactly the same way... I can't have kids myself... so my animals are my babies.

I really hope Laka is ok, please keep us updated!!

Sometimes my geckos have had that pinkish hue you are talking about. I remember it specially well one day I moved two of my geckos to a new enclosure. My guess is that it has more to do with the stress or the sudden change of enviromental conditions than Laka's fall itself, but if someone knows for sure what produces it I would like to know.

In my house we also refer to our geckos as "the kids". In fact we call the gecko room "the children's room"... We even tought about decorating the rack with cute stickers, lol. We're sick.

I hope Laka does well at the vet tomorrow. Keep us updated.

Well this has been a week I'll never forget, I wasn't able to take Laka to the vet as my ear infection spread to my bone and I was admitted to the hospital. I just got back today (off topic, but I never, ever, ever want to spend another day in the hospital, the only way I'm ever going back is if my head is hanging off by a string). They had me on IV antibiotics for 5 days.

I feel much much better now, I'll be taking Laka to the vet tomorrow just to check. My dearest took care of her while I was in the hospital and he said she didn't eat anything for him so I'm a little bit worried.

I went and got Laka checked out this afternoon and I'm happy to report that ALL IS WELL!!!
I'd have to say I never heard such a noise come from Laka when the vet attempted to put her over on her stomach, it sounded like a small baby sceaming and it totally caught me off gaurd~!
Aside from all the stress she suffered from the examination she ate 9 mealworms this evening so mommy is happy!

So glad to hear you are both feeling better! What a good girl Laka is to eat her mealies so her Mommy doesn't worry! ;)

We don't have any 2-legged kids yet, and I am also the same way about my scaled, feathered, and furkids! :main_yes: We spend sooo much time at the vet! They tease me and say we're the reason they stay in business! lol My Mom says she can't wait until we have human kids.....she says the way I treat the animals, I will be the most overprotective Mother in the world! ha! :main_rolleyes:
