I have my moist hide on the cool side of the tank but I've read never put it on the cool side and then I've also read never put it on the warm side.

In between is best,in my opinion. There's not really a right or wrong answer. It's your choice.

I keep mine on the cool side, because the warm side dries it out faster. Also... the warm side may make the humidity level too high.

Do some geckos refuse to use the moist hide? I've had mine for 2 months and I've never seen him use the moist hide. In fact he refuses to even go near it or have any contact with it at all.

I keep mine in the middle as well. Toon didn't want anything to do with her moist hide either until she got a little bigger. Now she loves it!

i keep all of mine right on the heat, for a couple reasons. one; the heat raises the humidity inside the hide. the definition of humidity is moisture content in the air, not just a wet spot. two; leopards need a certain amount of heat to properly digest their food. so if a humid hide is tighter fitting due to the medium inside used to hold the humidity(spagnum moss, paper towell, ect.), and reptiles will often choose security over optimal temperature, so if a moist hide is on the warm side, and the leopards stay in it even after eating, they still have optimal heat to digest their food.
