Are there any good care sheets on monkey tailed skinks?? What is a good cage size that one male can live in for his life?? What do they eat?? etc. Thanks
I would not go smaller then 4x2x4 (lwh) for one
there are quite a few good care sheets around, just google it
you will want the temps from 75 - 85 and not much more, a 70-95 humidity is needed as well as many branches ranging from 1-6 inches in width
for a substrate i would go with coco fibre and moss mix to keep it humid as with daily mistings
they usually like a fairly large water bowl o soak in as well as a small filter in it to keep water movement up which will attract them to it
they need uv lighting just like a beardie or such
for food you will need dark leaf veggies such as collard, mustard, and dandelion greens along with mango, and papaya every so often
I must say that these guys do not make good pets and are only good for those who have a spot in their heart for them
they do not like to be handled often and when handled you WILL need glove unless you want to be a diced tomatoe I am not joking when I say that their claws are razor sharp also they have an incredibly strong bite and I have been bitten and it required me to get stitches and it was not a very bad bite, they have strong jaws and very sharp teeth
if this doesn't set you off and you can afford the 600-1500 price tag i say go for it I love mine but they can be a pain
