Since it is made for signs should a sign and graphics shop be able to get them? There is only one near me.

They can and do, but expect to pay a higher price! A sign company will buy the sheets from the same suppliers you would and could. Then they turn around and use it to make signs and what not, and charge you a higher (much higher) price per finished product. In order to buy sheets from them, expect to pay a premium! Your best bet is to find a source, go direct!

Do you know any other kind of place I can look? We have a glass shop but I dont think they would have PVC. So far it looks like Atlanta is the closest to me so I may have to have it shipped.

If you need to have it shipped, it may defeat the cost savings as I can imagine shipping a sheet of XPVC or two would cost probably as much to ship as the sheets themselves! Unless you have them cut it for you and ship it that way?? Once it's cut the box dimensions would be based on your largest piece X's inches thick. Shipped ground it may not be that bad...

I say keep shopping around and see what you can find. If you are at your last resort? Consider a road trip to Atlanta....:main_laugh:

I found a place not too far away but do they call it anything other than XPVC? The sales rep didnt know what that was and he quoted me on CPVC but it was $895 a sheet.

$895.00 a sheet? Or do you mean $89.50 a sheet?

If it's really $895 a sheet, they may as well quote $85,000 a sheet! Was the sales rep smoking crack when he gave you this quote of $895?....:main_laugh:

It's a PVC sheet....:main_laugh:

I'm sure it's $89.50 a sheet, which is not bad!
$895 a sheet...that is too funny!....:main_laugh:

$895 is like going to McDonalds and asking for a #2 and being told $495 Vs $4.95...LOL

I don't care if there is diamonds embedded in that XPVC or CPVC or any other PVC....it should not cost $895 a sheet unless they are shipping it from China on the back of a Chinese guy who is also going to rent a private jet to fly it over seas and a helicopter to transport it from the airport to your house!!...:main_no:

I am assuming if he quoted you $895 he did not know what you wanted and just wanted you off the phone. You gotta love some salesmen!....:main_thumbsdown:

The $895 was CPVC in 8x16 sheets that had to be special ordered and shipped across the country and the $93 was the foam pvc.

XPVC, CPVC, it's all foam board PVC and none of it should cost $895 or $500 or $150 a sheet! $895 is a ridiculous price that they tried to nail you on. It's like walking onto a Honda Dealer and the red Civic is $16,000 Vs the same exact Civic, but in white for $160,000....:main_laugh:

$93.00 for the 13MM PVC is good, anything IMO over $125 regardless is highway robbery! $75-$100 is a good price based on what I've seen and heard from others buying 1-2 sheets. Of course, if you buy a pallet with 40 sheets (for those of you thinking about filling a room with racks), price is even less per sheet.

I told him I was qouted $90 to $100 from someone else:)

I wish I had the money for a pallet

Now you can build yourself a 12qt or 15qt = 14 tubs rack or a 7/28qt or 32qt rack for $93-$100, or any rack to hold a number of tubs. Add heat for $25-$30 and you're set..:main_thumbsup:

Spend that $$$ you saved on more Geckos...:D

I'm planning on building a 32qt and a 12qt rack. I'm getting 2 sheets, I hope that's enough for both. A friend is driving down with me to get it and he's getting a couple sheets to, to try making cages out of it.

Two sheets will be enough for either 28/12qt tubs or 14/32qt tubs or a mixture of the two depending how you set it up. The problem is, 12qt and 32qt tubs may vary. 12qt and 28qt are the same height and size to fit well on the same shelf, 15qt and 32qt tubs are the same.
