Alrighty, so I have a quick question... do RAPTORS have jet black eyes? Does anyone have pictures of what their eyes should look like in light, as well as in the dark??

Jet Black eyes would be the non albino version of the eclipse gene, adding albino into the mix turns the eye red.

My DB males eye is very dark ruby red, but you can still tell its red.
I dont have a close up of any of my eclipse eyes.....

Hope that helps!

Trempers who are incubated at lower temperatures tend to have darker eyes. It is possible for Raptors to have eyes so dark that they appear black but they're really very dark red.

Okay, that clears that up. A friend of mine mentioned to someone what Ares looks like. Apparently this person says he is a RAPTOR in his opinion. The snag is that Ares does not have red eyes at all. In the light his eyes turn into a cat eye, with small red veins on either side of the slitted pupil. And in the dark the pupil spreads over, taking over the white part.

That is a Tremper Albino, sorry definately not a raptor. The raptor eye pic I posted above is how a raptor eye looks all the time.

That is exactly what I thought, lol. No need to be sorry. I knew he couldn't be a RAPTOR, just needed the confirmation. He was sold to me as a sunglow. :main_yes:
