Morphs and attitudes

My 6 year old wants to know "Do the different colored geckos act different?"
:main_huh: Duh, mom's stumped again.

Are their differences in behavior in the different morphs? I think he's trying to narrow his list of 10 pictures down a bit by figuring out if any are known to be mellow. Gotta say, I'm impressed with how's he's going about his decision making this time around. Thanks for your thoughts on gecko 'tude.

Giants are naturally more tame than normal sized leos. This is likely due to their larger size making them feel less threatened. Thats all I really know.

agreed.. my adult giants are like big babies.. they are relaxed and calm at all times.. however my younger giant is still a bit skiddish but i imagine he'll be just like his father very soon.. we try to handle him a bit more often to lesson the threat appeal..

My blizzards and blizzard het are pretty evil when they're in the mood...which is nearly all the time. I'd say most of my patties are pretty sweet.

my young blizzards are definitely skiddish.. but my adults are sweet as can be.. although do have moods like any Leo would. My pattys are sweet too. But I do have one thats an anomaly.. she is a total freak and hates being handled.. She's also the first Leo to ever nip me.. but she was a bit stressed so i don't blame her..

I can say my Blizzards are the most evil out of all of my geckos, pattys are the most sweet.

My Mack snows are all very tame. The only one of my geckos that is a little skittish is an adult female blazing blizzard. By the way, is skittish spelled differently in America, or are you all just spelling it wrong?

They're all just spelling it wrong. ;)

I don't think morph is a great decider on whether it's going to be calm or not. The only one I would stay away from as they're generally known for being fiesty are the blizzards.

Spelling it wrong :). All I know is my SHTCTB HATES being handled. She will go all the way up my arm if I put a mealworm by my elbow, though.

Out of all the Blizzards I have owned only one has ever been skittish or even slightly "evil" - I find them to be very mellow and easy-going !!!

On the other hand I have a generally-pissed Albino male :)

My blizzard leans toward the skitzy side. But she's so cute and pink it makes up for it :p

Thanks everyone. I'll make sure he doesn't come home with a blizzard. I do have to go figure out what a "patty" is though.
Gotta love that search function. OK now I know what the "patty" refers to :)

Our patty is almost as nutty as the blizzard, but maybe ours is the exception?????

Giants are by all means the most tame in general but like I said I have a nutty Patty and a really sweet one.. so it's really the luck of the draw. I also have two juveniles that are actually for sale if you're interested, but since they are young they are a bit nutty still. Not mean but just skiddish because they probably think everyone is out to eat them.

Jeanine, you are buying this one at a show, right? I think predicting temperment by morph is way too difficult. Your best bet is probably to ask the breeder to point out his most tame and then have your son pick from those. That way it isn't as much of a crap shoot.

I didn't know you were getting this one from a show. After asking the breeder about temperament, I would ask if you can hold the one/two (or twelve if you are like me ha ha) that you are interested in and see who you like/likes you best :main_thumbsup:

Yes, we plan to head up to the Manchester NH show in April. I'll definitely be talking to who ever will help Gabe pick his leo. Hopefully we will only come home with ONE! That part will be up to me holding myself back.
