Moss

Was wondering if geckos should be a certain age before putting moss in the humid hide? Or is it better not to use it at all? Right now Im using damp paper towels..they dont seem to stay damp for very long.

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't use it...I use sphagnum moss in mine, it stays moist for a few days usually.

I use it for hatchling's and adults alike i feed mealies in a dish so no worry of them eating it.

I never heard of any major problems but I think someone had a situation were his gecko ate some sphagnum moss and they had the stringy moss sticking out of his behind for a few days, lmao but the gecko was fine. I personally use Eco Earth it stays moist pretty long and last a while.

We used Sphagnum for a while, but it molds fairly easily, so it needs to be changed often.
