It seems some grain moths have gotton into my breeding trays recently. I know you are supposed to get rid of the source but I can't due to having baby mealworms in them. Should I quarantine the trays off? Any tips?

Edit: Its the larva of the moths that I have been seeing. So theres still a chance I can contain them before they are able to breed again.

Thanks

I drove myself crazy with this the first time it happened. I not only had moths in the house, but also had moth larva in the baby mealworm containers. I spent too much time sifting and pulling out larvae. Now I have more of an attitude of "they won't eat much". I'd advise, first of all, if the moths are getting anywhere near your kitchen area, making sure that all grains and starch in the kitchen are either in glass or plastic or in the fridge. You can get some pheromone moth traps which don't use noxious chemicals and will trap the moths so there is less chance of breeding. Then just keep killing the moths as you see them. Have fun.

Thanks for the advice,
I did see the moths themselfs a month or so back. Thought I got rid of them untill I saw them today. I have 40 or so trays full right now so if it spreads, it will be big. I started sealing up the infected containers and put lids on all the others. The room is sealed (vents have mesh covering) so it shouldnt end up going to the rest of the house. If they spread, I just dont think I can eliminate them.

The wax worms never were in this room. I actually put them in a insulated shed outside because of all the horror stories I heard. The larva looks like the grain moths from what I looked at. They dont look like it. Ill look at a few and compair if any of the moths in my mealworm room hatch.

Grain aka meal moths

There is no mistaking wax moths and their larva for meal moths. Meal moths and their larvae are small enough to be eaten by dart frogs
