Cool! Mourning gecko's, I think I read that at least with these gecko's you do not have to worry about mixing males/females in the same tank because they are all the same gender?

Not sure about that, but I thought that was interesting.

you are correct, a male mourning gecko is yet to be found. actually that is why they are believed to be called the "Mourning" gecko because they will never find a mate :( they are simply parthenogenetic and after 8 months she is ready to lay her eggs! and then in another 10 months to a year, you will have twice or even quadruple the eggs!(from the babies, and mother :p) i am not sure how old mine is yet, I gather she is only a few months old, very very small still

Thanks all, she feeds on flightless fruit flies in case you were wondering. She is about the size of a large mealworm!

hehe...I just bought one on Saturday at a reptile expo. However, i couldn't get a pic of her. It's way too hard! The cool thing about these geckos is that each one is an exact clone of the one who gave birth to it. There are no designers here! :)

from what ive read, yes but its a 50/50 chance, out of the 2 eggs it lays theres usually only one that makes it out :(
