Mouth Rot?

About last week I started noticing this tiny bump on the side of my gecko's mouth. He had been eating fine until tonight he hasn't even looked at his crickets. I'm starting to get nervous because the thing on his mouth looks huge now and it looks like there is blood around it. Any help would be very appreciated.

That kinda does look like it could be mouth rot. I would have a culture and sensitivity performed by a good herp vet. This test will tell you the exact kind of bacteria that is present in the mouth, as well as list the kinds of antibiotics the animal is sensitive to.

Will it go away on its own? I fully clean his cage every month the only thing it could have been from is his water bowl and I refill/clean that out very often. Could it be from the crickets he is eating?

It definately will not go away on it's own. To me, it looks infected. If he were mine, I would definately take him in. As far as the cause, it doesn't necessarily have to do with cleanliness/hygine. There are a LOT of different factors that could account for it...t

I have to post this next part, because if this information is absorbed incorrectly, I could get in trouble with the AVMA.

Disclaimer: I have not diagnosed this pet, I have only given my opinion.

some times infections can be started from somthing so simple as getting a bit of food stuck. you know how some times when we eat crisps and a little sharp bit jabs u in the gum, it hurts! its the same as geckos eating locusts or crickets they have sharp legs that can hurt. maybe it was somthing like that?
