Mouth rot

It just showed up today, just a small piece on the front of the lip. I looked at pics and Im certain its the start up of mouth rot. I swabbed it with hydrogen peroxide as I heard that helps a bit, though I wont be doing it much because she immediately started licking her lips...last thing I need is for her to get hurt from the peroxide. Im scrubbing down her cage tomorrow, as I heard that if you sanitize everything early on it might help as well.

She's in a 20 gallon long with a heat pad. Inside her hot hide it's about 105, on the outside about 97. She's on tile and has a humid hide.

Any small home remedies to try before I make the app for the vet?

I figured I'd try to get it clean and see if you all had any tips for me. I'll be making an app. in 4-5 days if it doesn't clear up.

Any pics? Mouth rot is uncommon in Leo's. Is there any pus or the like? My gecko had a black spot that looked kind of like mouth rot, it was a bite from a superworm on his lip. I used hydrogen peroxide on it just in case, it will not harm them if it is not a large amount so I would not worry about ingesting it unless they are taking in a large amount.

Okay good I had a mini panic attack when she started licking at the part I swabbed. Give me five minutes and I'll have some pictures posted up.

That pic does look like inflamed and swollen, it looks infected. I would say it warrants a vet visit, it does look like it could possibly be mouth rot. I would wait to see if someone with more knowledge of gecko infections to chime in.

alright I will. Thanks for the input! I heard in early stages you can sanitize/swab and it might help...but I also read their are different kinds of mouth rot from viral to bacterial? Not sure. :/

Hi. My leopard had in past mouth rot. I used medicine called "Metronizadol". I gently spread on his mouth with soaked swab of cotton wool. It helped. I'm from Poland so I don't know if you got Metronizadol in your country.

Do NOT use peroxide. It is commonly misused as an antiseptic, which it is not. It can damage healthy cells.
