hi
i noticed in the last couple of days, my gecko has started sleeping in the cool side of the tank, whereas before he was usually in the hot hide at night and the moist hide in the day. I was just wondering if this is something to do be concerned about. obviously they are supposed to adjust their body tempreture by moving around but he was never right into the cool side before.

i recently put a (very) small/weak heatpad on the side of the cool side which raised the temp a couple of degrees and it is now 24/25 degrees centigrade. Might this be why ha has started to use it ?

Also i put a new hide in the cool side (i had one before but he seems to prefer this as it is smaller.) is t possible that he is down there because he likes the hide, rather then choosing to cool down?

sorry about all the questions...i get worried about him :)

How cool is your cool side? It should be at least 10*F lower then the hot side which should be around 90*F. I keep my cool side down to room temp, which for me is between 65-80 varying. And the hide could very much be a reason for side changes.

That may be a little warm for him, try lowering the temps on the warm side a few degrees. If he is spending most of the time on the cool side it probly means the warm side is to warm.
