Hey forum just wandering if there is a way to hook up multiple heat cables to one thermo stat. I have been looking to make two rack systems, one for my adult geckos and one for babies, and was wandering if there is a way to hook up multiple cables to one thermo stat.

Would it be possible or safe to hook up a power stick to a thermostat?

I have seen 750 and 1000 watt thermostats but they all only have one plugin. I have yet to see a heat cable that is more than 150 watts.

Any info would help and please no guessing as I don't want a fire on my hands =) If you have figured out a way to do this or have done this with no problems please let me know.

The Alife or ESU or Zilla thermostats (they've been market as a variety of brands but they all look the same to me) have 3 plug-ins for each thermostat. I guess you could also plug one of those adapters into a single plug thermostat which would then let you plug in multiple lines. The important thing is that the ambient conditions of all the places you're heating are the same since you'll be using a single probe to determine what the temp should be.

thanks Aliza just what I was looking for im ordering all of my stuff tomorrow as far as hovabator hatch right zoomed heat cable and thermostat. I'm going to make the rack that is in the how to for the 6qt tubs and one for some 15qt and 32qt tubs

I'm going to set up the probe in all three containers 32qt for adults 15qt for juveniles and 6qt for babies for about a week each and use a digital thermometer that records min and max temps. I also have a heat gun to see how hot and cool the front and back of the tube is threw out the day.

Now all I need to find out is exactly how many passes of zoomed heat cable I should use for each shelf. I have heard any where from two passes to four passes.

If I don't find out before I order I'm just going to get the 50ft to play it safe. The rack is going to have shelves 25" long with six shelves which should be 50' exactly.
