im going to get one of these right after christmas. my gecko doesn't go on the ground from what i've seen so she doesn't eat her food at all. if i put a cricket in the foliage with her she destroys it so i know she has a apatite. she is also just got moved to a new terrarium so that may be part of it. but i think she would be happier with her food and water up by her.

Those things are awesome and I would highly recommend them for any crested gecko setup! Do it.
I dont know about your geckos but mine only go on the "ground" during "active" hours. Yours probably does go on the ground, just when your asleep. If you leave CGD on the "ground" in a deli cup do you notice if your gecko eats it? Moving it may not be necesary (although still an option). If I was you considering this, Id get the ledge and put it where you want to but leave his/her usual food in its usual spot and add the food in the second spot in the ledge. After maybe a week I would consider not putting any food in the old spot. You want to give your gecko time to explore the new stuff in the cage and time to realize "oh ish, thats food!".

Some of them won't eat CGD at all if insects are presented to them. I have one like that.

But the mushroom ledge is awesome, I use it for cresties and leachies too.

i would rather her eat the CGD, will she go after it in time do you think? she eats it if i put it in front of her. which is why im going to get the legde, so it closer to her.

@ Anbu- You don't need to mix up very much at a time, they don't eat a ton in one sitting. It may be that she's eating it and you don't notice it because there's so much. Try not feeding insects for a while, and feed a tiny amount of CGD so you will definitely notice if it's gone. She's not going to starve if she doesn't eat for a few days.

i figured she wouldn't eat a ton. i have a bunch mixed in a squeeze bottled i bought and keep it in the fridge. i put a good glob in the dish because im afraid a little bit will dry out quickly.

i got my ledge in the mail the other day and its a little bigger then i pictured it to be. its not too big but i thought it was smaller and it looks really cool. my crestie is use to her new enclosure now, she moves around alot and seems to be pretty active. i haven't seen her eat really but she must be because i was holding her a little while ago and she poo'd on me.
also, does anyone know how long rapeshy (prolly spelled wrong) gecko food lasts for mixed and kept in the fridge? i don't want to give her spoiled food.

As long as you put it in something that had a lid, like a small tupperware container, I'd be comfortable keeping it for close to a week. But some people put it in ice cube trays and freeze it, then it would last for a long time. I just mix mine up as I need it though, and it doesn't take too much time.
