They are still young - 4-6 months old I was told - so I don't know if they are male or female yet. I haven't tried to hold them yet either because I want them to be settled and I don't want to stress them -- and I'm sorta scared of hurting them / getting bit! LOL. But I think they are so cute. The greyish one has some shed on it's tail that's been there since I got him. I'm not sure if I should try and get it off. Also it doesn't seem as friendly as the other one but I'm not sure of their personalities yet. It keeps eating all the food though! Today it must have had about 20 meal worms. I was hand feeding them and I fed that one about 10 and then went to feed the other one and it ran over and started stealing the worms out of the tongs! I think it's kind of bullying the other one =/ I hope not!

Oh well let me know what you guys think. I'm new to the reptile world so I could use all the advice I can get!

Welcome to the world of addiction, heres a few things to know
You need to get the stuck shed off try a warm water soak
If one is bullying the other you should seperate
At 4-6 months you should be able to sex, you need to make sure they are not both males as they will soon begain to fight and they can and will fight to the death

Also can you post a few more pics of the one on the left in the top pic?

hi i saw that my pics didn't show up at first -- they are working for me now though.

i'm not sure if the one is bullying the other yet. they sleep together (on top of each other!) and seem to get along but i read that if one eats most of the food then it's bullying. i just checked though and there are still mealworms in the dish so maybe it was just very hungry.

i have not seen the pores on either of them that lets me know they are males so i am assuming they are both females.

that is just shed on his tail right? that's what I thought it was when I bought him so I wasn't worried about it or anything.

Did you get them from a pet store?

yes i did. is that okay? the only other place around that i know of besides ***** that sells them is this small pet store that does sell a lot of reptiles but they treat their animals very poorly and are always shutting down and then reopening.

no its fine just need to get the shed off, most pet shop dont keep propper temps so once he is at the propper temp he should start to lighten up he looks like a patternless just very dark.

ooh ok. the tank at the pet store was much more humid then mine. I can't seem to get my tank past 15% humidity. I read that it should be between 40-60% is that correct? I have a dish of water under the lamp hoping for evaporation and I have been spraying a humidity spray in the tank but the humidity only goes up for a little while and then dries up again.

Also if you can, can you tell me the temperatures you use for your tank and what you use for a humid hide? my humid hide will not stay moist at all - the moss keeps drying up so I'm thinking they recommended the wrong kind at the store? My cool side is about 75 degrees f and my warm side is about 88 degrees f. Is that ok?

honestly I dont check my humidity, I use belly heat and the area where the heat is stays around 89-90 deg, I use eco earth in the humid hide and lay boxes, warm side should be a little warmer. Take the water dish from under the light and move it to the cool side, as long as there is a humid hide and fresh water you should be fine.
Are you just useing a light for heat?

they have a water dish on the cool side, i just put a small dish of water on the warm side to hopefully create evaporation/humidity. i use a heat lamp and i also have a heating pad under the tank with a hide on top of it. i am trying to provide a moist hide for them but it will not stay moist. i spray it at least 3 times a day and it just dries up so quickly, i will go to the store tomorrow and get some eco earth - maybe that will help. they don't even go in the moist hide because it's not moist! lol.

I only spray the eco earth down evey 2-3 days, they dont need the heat lamp as long as the uth is keeping the floor of the hot side warm enough. the light may be whats causing your hide to dry out so quick.

without the light the warm side of the tank only reaches about 83 degrees-- is that warm enough for them ??

no not the air temp its their belly that needs the heat to digest food your tank is prob way to hot. if you can get a thermometer with a prob stick the prob on the floor right over the heat pad thats what should be 90deg

really?? too hot?? they seem to be in the warm side of the tank the most so I thought they liked it! i will have to get a thermometer with a probe. so the heating lamp is not needed?? not even the red one for at night?? sorry i'm very new to this and probably am doing a lot of things wrong, but everything i have read has said to use a heating pad and a heat lamp - and to keep the heat lamp on 12 hours a day and then switch to the red heat lamp for 12 hours of night, and leave the heating pad on constantly. my air temp is about 88 during the day and about 83 at night on the warm side. and usually a pretty constant 75 on the cool side.

i will have to learn more about this so i can give them the proper set up. i just used a wet q-tip to gently soak the one geckos tail that needs to be shed. it seemed to help a little bit. I also re soaked the moss so hopefully it will go in there tonight.
thanks for all the help i need to head to bed. if you or anyone else has any more advice for me please do give it - i want them to be happy and healthy geckos! thanks for all of your help so far!
