My Anniversary Gift!!

For the first time in 21 years, hubby actually got me something I WANTED for our anniversary!

I'd like everyone to meet Joanna. My new baby Savannah Monitor.

Shes just amazing! And I knew how big they got, I just never realized how tiny they start!!

pacersfan712- Shes on crickets now, but she'll graduate to F/T pinkies in another month or two. Monitors are great eaters with endless appetites!
We had one that ate scrambled eggs in the morning and chicken for dinner, along with the cricks and occassional pinkie!

Joe who has the Reptile Rescue has 2 Sav. Monitors. I think they eat veggies to but I am not positive. His are pretty tame and loads of personality. One is small like yours and the other one is about 2 feet. I will try to get pics in the next day or two.

Can they go without pinkies in their diet or is it something they need from time to time?

The big girl we had did fine without them for quite a while. She'd only get them when a snake refused a meal, which wasn't often at all.
