My female laid eggs (21) to be exact and that was without a male impregnating her. Is this "Normal"? Shes about 3 yrs old and is in good shape @ 480 grams. I'd mate her to my male but hes to short....Bummer for him...Thanks for your help

Just went through the same thing with my Dharma. Its not unheard of. She should be starving now, though. :)

One or two clutches isn't bad. She may do it again in about a month. If she produces more than 3 clutches, or starts just laying a couple eggs a day over an extended period of time, you should talk to your vet.

Infertiles take alot out of them and can really run them down.

You'd be surprised as to how little the size difference makes when a male is determined to mate-lol

T&KBrouse is right on with the advice given

Make sure and keep up with the supplements and give her a good soak after she lays her eggs

As I've mentioned in another post, I've gotten about 65 eggs in 3 clutches from my 5 year old never seen a male beardie. This last clutch took quite a bit out of her, but she's eating up a storm, very active again and I really hope she's done.

Yes my female has now turned into a vacuum! I think this morn. I threw in 50+ crickets and they were gone in 15 min. I think I toss the male in and see if we're gonna go through the egg thing might as well try to make some little beardies. He tried to mate the min. I put him in and now when he head bobs she lays down to cooperate but he seems more interested in bobbin....What a dork. I'm hopin after 3-5 days he'll get things figured out. I plan on pullin him then. Do the eggs glow pink right at laying or does it take a day or two?
