So I started off with one of those "cricket Keepers" But with two adult leo's Im finding it too hard to keep on hand enough crickets to feed my guys. between going to get them and bringing them home 24hours ahead of time to make sure they are gutloaded to my standards. Its like a rotation that has to be timed. So I decided to upgrade to a larger "cricket keeper" per say :p

So am I weird because Im sitting here like a little kid just watching my crickets doing their thing in cricket town HAHAHAHA:main_laugh:

Here are some pics of the new set-up. I figure this way I can go every week to get another 6doz take out what I will feed that night..and add the newbies in and by the next day they will be properly gutloaded! right now Im out getting crickets like every 2-3days and having to time it right to be able to gutload.

I really wish my guys weren't so picky...they won't do mealies, and they actually run from supers!

All creatures, even feeders, are fun to watch. I get 1000 crickets in the mail every 2 weeks or so and move a subset of them from a 10 gallon tank to a smaller enclosure as needed. Works fine.

I always watch my roaches. It makes me happy when I see them come out and eat their food. :)

Melissa, I think spinach is high in oxalic acid, maybe not a good choice for gutloading (since the gecko is indirectly eating the spinach). :)

Thank you!!! I was using Spinach because its Vit A and Calcium.

But now Im confused...here is a link I found.

http://www.repticzone.com/articles/oxalicacidvegetablelist.html

on here it lists carrots as well. I thought these were good natural gutloading foods? Can you clarify for me?!:main_yes:

@fl_orchidslave I would have loved a worm farm or an Ant farm!! :main_thumbsup: who says we are the odd one's I think its those who don't like this stuff are the odd ones!!!:main_yes: :D :main_yes:

You see, I'm going to get a beardie soon, so I had been researching on what vegetables are good to use; and I came across this nutrition list: http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html Since the geckos are indirectly eating what the feeders are eating, I figured this table could also apply to the choices of gutloading. Hope this helps.

I only really like to watch crickets when they get crushed by the jaws of death.
