My enigma leo is not doing so well.

Just an update from about 6 months ago. My leo, Slither, is still losing weight and now looks like skin and bones. I weighed him and he's 37 grams. He is active but is very wobbly and clumsy when he walks.

I have tried mealworms, giant mealworms, dubias, the baby food mix and taking the legs off crickets but his coordination has declined. He refuses to eat if I try to hand feed him and spits out the baby food mix. I've tried putting him in a small critter keeper with food in it and he still has problems catching things. even the roaches. I have put about 30 mealworms in his bowl so that when he goes to eat he can catch at least some of them even if he misses the one he's aiming for. (I do take most of them out after awhile when it looks like he's done).

He has a cool hide, warm hide, and humid hide. His tile is kept at 89-90 degrees and I just checked it again with a temp gun. It registered 93 so I turned it down a bit. He has a dish of calcium powder WITHOUT D3 and the dish that i put the mealies in has calcium powder with D3 and a multi vitamin in it.

His fecals look normal but not as frequent as the other geckos since he's not eating much. He always has fresh water in his dish and I take all their dishes out once a week to wash them and put them back in clean.

I don't know, with his weight declining like it is and his health also declining I am so lost. It breaks my heart but I hate to see him suffering. If anyone has any ideas please tell me because I don't want to lose him.

I would agree with the vet recommendation (find a good reptile vet). Have you tried tong feeding him? If he has coordination problems he obviously doesn't hunt very well, so I'd sit and hold things for him so they are easy to grab.

None of our local vets treat exotic pets (I've already called a bunch of them) so I'll have to check around near the larger cities. I was thinking the same thing anyway.

@sausage: No he is not housed with other geckos and never has been.

@Olympus: Yes I've tried the tongs and he won't take it. I even tried the roaches in a bowl and he kept missing them, would get frustrated, then walk away.
